Stanké est un tremplin pour la jeune littérature tant québécoise qu’étrangère. Elle publie des essais politiques et de mœurs contemporains. Elle héberge également la collection « 10/10 ». Parmi ses auteurs confirmés : Roch Carrier, Marc Favreau et Marie-Monique Robin.
LE MARCHÉ DU LIVRE AU QUÉBEC EN CHIFFRES
- Le Québec, une des dix provinces canadiennes, a une population de 7,7 millions d’habitants, dont 6 millions de francophones.
- En 2008, 6 665 nouveaux titres ont été publiés (en France: 70 000) pour un tirage moyen de 2700 exemplaires et un prix moyen de 30$.
- Un ouvrage vendu à plus de 3 000 exemplaires est un best-seller au Québec.
- Les éditeurs français exportent la plupart de leurs ouvrages au Québec par le biais de distributeurs.
SUBVENTIONS À LA TRADUCTION
Le Conseil des Arts du Canada rembourse 50% des frais de traduction pour les ouvrages littéraires. La SODEC (gouvernement du Québec) offre une aide financière qui peut atteindre 75% des frais de traduction, incluant les honoraires de révision, pour un montant maximum de 12 500$.

- Quebec, one of Canada’s ten provinces, has a population of 7.7 million, 6 million of whom are francophone.
- There were 6,665 new titles published in 2008 (in France, 70,000) with an average print run of 2,700 copies and at an average price of $30.
- A work that sells more than 3,000 copies is a bestseller in Quebec.
- French publishers export most of their books to Quebec through distributors.
TRANSLATION SUBSIDIES
The Canada Council for the Arts refunds 50% of translation costs for literary works. SODEC (Quebec government) provides financial aid for up to 75% of translation costs, including editing costs, for a maximum amount of $12,500.
